Terms of Service
Hey! Thanks for using ClassGrid. These Terms of Service are basically the rules you agree to follow when you use our platform. Think of them like the rules of a game — everyone needs to know them so things stay fair and fun for everyone.
By signing up or logging into ClassGrid, you're saying "I agree" to these rules. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
We use a few specific words throughout this document, so here's what they mean in simple terms. The "Platform" means ClassGrid and everything that comes with it. An "Organization" is a school, college, or coaching center that uses ClassGrid. An "Organization Admin" is the person at that school who manages everything on ClassGrid. "Faculty" means teachers and instructors. A "Student" is someone who joins a classroom to learn.
ClassGrid is meant for students, teachers, and educational institutions. To use it, you need to be part of an organization that has signed up — like your school or coaching center. You must give us correct information when you sign up, and you should never pretend to be someone else. Your school is responsible for making sure only the right people get access to their classrooms.
You can create an account using your email and a password, or by signing in with Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn. Once you have an account, it's yours to take care of. Keep your password private and don't share it with anyone. If something weird happens on your account — like someone else logging in — that's on you if it happened because you shared your password or weren't careful with it. ClassGrid can't be blamed for things that happen because of your own actions with your account.
If your school or institution is using ClassGrid, they have agreed to use it only for proper educational purposes. They are responsible for managing which teachers and students have access, keeping an eye on what gets posted in classrooms, making sure all uploaded materials are legal and appropriate, and maintaining honest academic standards. Basically, everything that happens inside an organization's ClassGrid space is that organization's responsibility — not ClassGrid's.
Teachers using ClassGrid agree to use it for teaching and nothing else. They should behave professionally, not misuse the AI tools available on the platform, and only upload content that is legal and that they have the right to share. Teachers must also respect student privacy — they cannot snoop around other schools' classrooms or data. ClassGrid gives teachers powerful tools, and with that comes responsibility to use them the right way.
Students agree to use ClassGrid only for learning. This means no bullying, no harassment, no uploading anything illegal or harmful, and no trying to sneak into classrooms you haven't been invited to. The AI tools are there to help you study — not to be misused. You can only be part of one organization at a time unless your school has set things up differently. Basically, just be a good person and use the platform the way it was meant to be used.
There are some things that are off limits for everyone on ClassGrid, no matter who you are. You must not break any laws while using the platform, upload viruses or harmful software, try to hack or break into parts of the system you're not supposed to access, copy or steal data from the platform, share classroom access codes with people who don't belong, or pretend to be a different school or institution. Breaking these rules can get your account suspended or permanently banned.
ClassGrid has some really cool AI tools built in to help you study and learn. But it's important to understand what AI actually is — it's a computer program that generates answers based on patterns, and it can sometimes get things wrong. The AI on ClassGrid is a helper, not a replacement for your teacher or your own thinking. ClassGrid cannot be held responsible if you make a decision based on something the AI told you that turned out to be incorrect. Always double-check important information with your teacher or a trusted source.
AI can make mistakes. Never use AI-generated answers for important academic decisions without verifying them first.
If you upload notes, assignments, or any other content to ClassGrid, you still own it — it's yours. By uploading it, you're giving ClassGrid permission to store it, process it, and show it within the platform so everything works properly. That's it. ClassGrid does not claim ownership of your work and will never use your educational materials for anything outside of running the platform.
The ClassGrid platform itself — the code, the design, the logo, the branding — all of that belongs to ClassGrid. You're welcome to use the platform, but you cannot copy the code, steal the design, reproduce the logo, or try to build your own version of ClassGrid based on what we've built. That would be like copying someone's homework and calling it your own — not cool.
Using ClassGrid means your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy. We take privacy seriously, especially for younger students. Schools are responsible for making sure they have the right permissions from students and parents where required by law. We encourage you to read our Privacy Policy to understand exactly what data we collect and how we use it.
ClassGrid has the right to suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these rules. This can happen to individual users or even entire organizations. Reasons for suspension include breaking these Terms, doing something that puts the platform's security at risk, misusing the platform in any way, or legal requirements that force us to act. We don't take this lightly, but keeping the platform safe and fair for everyone is our priority.
ClassGrid provides the tools — what you do with them is up to you. We are not responsible for your exam results or academic performance, anything wrong that an AI response tells you, content that other users upload, data you lose because of something you did, the platform going down temporarily for maintenance, or arguments or disputes between users. The platform is provided as-is, meaning we do our best but cannot guarantee it will always be perfect.
We work hard to keep ClassGrid running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will be available 100% of the time. Sometimes we need to do maintenance, fix bugs, or add new features — and during those times the platform might be temporarily unavailable. We'll try to do this at times that cause the least disruption, but we appreciate your patience when it happens.
If you misuse ClassGrid and it causes problems — for ClassGrid, for other users, or for anyone else — you are responsible for that. This includes things like breaking these rules, uploading harmful content, or violating any laws. ClassGrid should not have to pay for problems that were caused by your own actions on the platform.
ClassGrid is based in India, so Indian law applies to these Terms. If there is ever a serious legal dispute that needs to go to court, it will be handled in India. We hope it never comes to that — but it's good to know just in case.
As ClassGrid grows, these rules might need to be updated. When that happens, we'll post the new version on this page with an updated date. If you keep using ClassGrid after we make changes, that means you're okay with the new rules. We recommend checking this page every now and then so you're always in the loop.
Access to advanced platform features—such as increased classroom and storage limits, advanced analytics, and the Smart Attendance system—is available exclusively through our Pro Plan. Specific features, usage limits, and capabilities included in the Pro Plan are detailed on our pricing and features pages and may be updated from time to time.
Payments are processed securely through Razorpay. Classgrid does not store full card or UPI credentials. By making a payment, users agree to Razorpay's payment processing policies. Plan activation occurs automatically after successful payment confirmation.
ClassGrid offers the Pro Plan on a fixed-duration basis (e.g., monthly). To upgrade your organization to the Pro Plan, you must complete the payment process via our integrated Razorpay gateway. Upgrades are processed and activated instantly upon successful payment. If your payment fails or is interrupted, the Pro Plan will not be activated, and any deducted amounts will be refunded to your original payment method in accordance with standard Razorpay and banking timelines.
Subscriptions do not auto-renew. Your Pro Plan will remain active for the specific duration purchased (e.g., 30 days from the activation date). You are responsible for renewing your plan before the expiration date to maintain uninterrupted access to Pro features. If your plan expires, your organization's account will automatically be reverted to the Free Plan, which may result in restricted access to features and data that exceed Free Plan limits.
Because the Pro Plan is activated upon manual payment verification and does not auto-renew, all subscription payments are generally non-refundable once activated. We do not provide partial refunds or credits for partially used billing periods or if you choose to stop using the platform mid-cycle. If you believe your payment was collected in error or if your plan was not successfully activated despite a successful payment, please contact us within 7 days of the transaction for assistance.
ClassGrid reserves the right to modify pricing for our plans. We will announce any price changes on the platform before they take effect. Current pricing will apply to your plan until it expires, but any subsequent renewals may be subject to the updated pricing. Unless otherwise stated, our prices are exclusive of applicable taxes (such as GST). If GST applies, it will be communicated during the checkout phase.
For any billing, payment, or renewal inquiries, or to report a disputed transaction, please contact our support team at support@classgrid.in. Any formal payment disputes are subject to the jurisdiction and governing laws defined in these Terms.
All notes, PDFs, documents, classroom materials, announcements, and other academic content uploaded to ClassGrid remain the sole intellectual property of the original creator or their respective organization.
ClassGrid does NOT claim any ownership rights over user-uploaded content. We do not sell, rent, or commercially exploit any academic materials hosted on our platform.
By uploading content to ClassGrid, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, format, and display that content solely for the operational purposes of the platform—such as making it available to your authorized students and faculty within your organization's classrooms.
When you upload any material to ClassGrid, you legally confirm that you either own the intellectual property rights to that content, or you have obtained explicit, legal permission from the rightful owner to upload, share, and distribute it on our platform.
ClassGrid operates purely as a hosting infrastructure provider and is not liable for unauthorized uploads or plagiarism committed by users. We stringently respect intellectual property rights. If we receive a valid notice of copyright infringement, ClassGrid reserves the right to immediately remove the violating content without prior notice and may suspend or permanently terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe upon intellectual property rights.
If anything in these Terms confused you, or if you have a question about how ClassGrid works, feel free to reach out to us. We're happy to help explain things in a way that makes sense to you.
